Wills & Trusts
The cornerstone of your estate plan. A straightforward Will enables you to make specific gifts to your chosen beneficiaries and appoint guardians and executors of your choice. It can also include a straightforward trust where minor beneficiaries are involved. We include 1 free land registry search with every Will we draft. Those with more complex estate planning needs may want to consider including a Will based trust. These can help achieve a number of objectives such as protecting vulnerable beneficiaries, preventing sideways disinheritance of children on remarriage or reducing Inheritance Tax liability.
Costs
A standard Will costs £200 for an individual or £350 for a couple with similar wishes.
Wills containing one Will based trust are charged at a total of £450 for one person or £600 for couples with similar wishes. Wills containing two trusts are charged at £650 for one person and £800 for couples with similar wishes.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

Separate LPAs are available to cater for your:
- Health and Welfare
- Financial Affairs
- Business Interests
Costs
Each LPA costs £300 per person plus the registration fee set by the Office of Public Guardian. Two LPAs are available at a discounted cost of £500 per person plus the OPG registration fee.
Training and Webinars
We are passionate about education. We have seen, too often, the consequences of failing to put in place adequate estate planning documentation and the impact it can have on families.
Recent studies indicate that:
- more than 50% of UK adults over the age of 30 don’t have a Will
- only 17% of over 40s have appointed a Power of Attorney
- the average age of a testator in the UK is 58 years old
The result is that millions of adults do not have the protection that they and their families need.
We liaise with HR teams to offer webinars to company employees. Our webinars are free of charge and typically cover matters such as why it is important to have a Will; how provisions in your Will can be used to protect vulnerable beneficiaries and against sideways disinheritance, preserve assets and reduce Inheritance Tax liability. It also covers the importance of appointing a Power of Attorney. We aim to make our webinars relevant and engaging with plenty of real-life examples.

Other Services
In addition to drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney, we offer the following services:
Document Storage – for storage of Wills, Powers of Attorney and other important estate planning documentation.
Advanced Decisions / Living Wills – this enables someone with capacity, who is 18 years or over, to refuse specific medical treatment for a time in the future when they lack capacity to refuse consent to that particular treatment.
Severing Tenancy – Enabling you to change your property ownership structure from Joint Tenants to Tenants in Common. This is sometimes necessary when setting up a trust.
