FAQs

Why do I need a Will?
A Will is the only way to ensure your assets are distributed according to your wishes after your death. Without one, your estate may be divided under the rules of intestacy, which could mean loved ones miss out, or that your estate is handled in a way you wouldn’t have chosen.
What is a Power of Attorney and why is it important?
A Power of Attorney allows you to appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you become unable to do so yourself. There are different types—such as for financial matters or health and welfare—and having them in place avoids costly and time-consuming legal processes later.
What is a Will-based Trust?
Will-based trusts are used to protect assets for future generations, manage Inheritance Tax liability, or ensure vulnerable beneficiaries are looked after appropriately. They are included within your Will and only come into effect after your death.
I’m not wealthy—do I still need estate planning?
Yes. Estate planning isn’t just for the wealthy. Everyone has something of value to pass on—be it property, savings, personal belongings, or digital assets. More importantly, it’s about making your wishes known and protecting your loved ones. It also gives you the opportunity to appoint a guardian if you have children who are still minors as well as executors to manage the distribution of your estate.
How much do your services cost?
We offer a transparent, fixed-fee structure for most services. Costs depend on the complexity of your requirements, and we’ll always explain our fees clearly upfront before any work begins. Our full price list is available on our website.
Can I update my Will later?
Absolutely. Life changes—marriage, divorce, children, or changes in assets can all affect your Will. We recommend reviewing your Will every few years or after any major life event.
Do I need to visit your office?
Not at all. We offer video conferencing appointments for clients across England and Wales, and in-person meetings for those within a 15-mile radius of our office. For those who are a bit further away, but would still like to have a face-to-face meeting, we can arrange this at an additional cost. Evening and weekend appointments are also available upon request.
How do I get started?

Simply get in touch with us by phone, email, or through our website contact form. We’ll schedule an initial no obligation call at a time that suits you.

Are you regulated?

Our director Molly Caddick, who will draft your documentation, is both a qualified solicitor (and therefore personally regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)) as well as a full member of the Society of Will Writers. Pentire Estate Planning is not however regulated by the SRA.
